Shadow

Her shadow falling by the narrow slat
She sat with her hands clasped tight
Her long tresses finishing just below her waist
She wore the color of a dark cold night

With only the moon shining brighter than her eyes
She made beauty a small word to describe
Tired lashes that slightly rested on her cheeks
Defied every pain her eyes could imbibe

Her body engulfed in timidness
enunciated fear of the cruelest kind
shuddering with every breeze
She was determined to find the love, she pined

With every click of footstep on the road
Her tired lashes rose
And on not seeing him
Just to fall again they chose
